What is NAWI?

Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments as the international term sets down the essential requirements for weighing instruments such as retail scales, industrial scales and weigh bridges / truck scales.

What is Pattern Approval (PA)?

Under the Weights And Measures Act 1972 Malaysia, all weighing instruments used for trading purposes in Malaysia must be certified with PA issued from National Metrology Institute Malaysia. This regulation is in line with all ASEAN Member States in the Type Approval to align legal metrology requirements amongst ASEAN countries.

What does KPDNHEP Letter mean ?

All weighing scale instrument and products that have been verified by the selected companies (Metrology Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd & De Metrology SdN Bhd) can still obtain such re-verification and license renewal services, these companies are urged to continue to seek certification approval from NMIM, to ensure the products are Pattern Approved in Malaysia, to be legally used in trading purpose.

What is trading use?

All types of weighing instruments used by business operators in their retail business in daily transaction is considered Trading Use. All transaction involve monetary, official invoices, receipts, salary & wages calculation etc will be considered Trading purposes.

Do we need license to sell weighing instruments?

Yes, requisite licences are issued by Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri Hal Ehwal Pengguna. Without such license, it is illegal to sell weighing instruments for trading use.

Do you deliver all products ?

All NAWI requires verification, setting up, assemble. For small items below capacity of 500kg, our offers are self-pick up from nationwide Authorised Resell & Repair Centers ARRC
For big items such as floor scale and truck scale, we will require delivery charges to your door step.
